Alexandre Gama: A Creative Genius

Alexandre Gama always dreamt of owning his own advertising agency, a dream that had to be put on hold for the first 17 years of his career. After spending his first eight years in the industry as a copywriter at Standard Ogilvy & Mather. In 1990 Gama was given a huge break when he was hired by DM9, where he became the Creative Director of the firm. He then moved onto being named the COO of Young & Rubicam in 1996. After excelling there, Gama opened his own agency, Neogama, in 1999.
An immediate success, Neogama, won two Golden Lions at the Cannes Film Festival in its first year. No other agency had done that before and no agency has done that since. The agency has won another 21 Golden Lions since it was founded, and Gama is widely recognized globally for his work. He has won numerous industry awards as a Creative Director and has turned Neogama into one of Brazil’s top firms.
